Usually it is to cope with a situation - trying to figure out, in fact, how i might be able to fix it or get over it. Music is therapy. I hope that you might get to know me by my music. So often we find ourselves praying, "God! Why won't you do..." But remember God is always "do"ing. It's a matter of whether or not we are partnering with him in what he is doing.

]]> CalvinArsenia Sun, 02 Aug 2009 23:19:48 +0100 music & me http://www.crimsonpulse.com/pulse Hey Crimpson Pulse fam,  I've still been writing some stuff, but I don't have the recording equipment right now to do it justice.  I might post some of my lyrics up, or just a really raw demo of some songs.  I'm teaching high school math now, so as a first year teacher my time was really taken up this past year.  I've been using hip hop in my class room to teach math believe it or not.  I hope to use this summer to write script some lyrics about the Lord though.  Maybe a rap worship project.  Anyway, there's so much good Christian hip hop going on out there, for every flavour you could want.  I strongly recommend you check out the last two Flame albums:  Our World Fallen, and Our World Redeemed.  Also, the new Ambassador cd The Chop Chop, and Lecrae's Rebel cd (he brings that southern heat to the tracks)  These artists will feed you solid theological doctine while never compromising on the skill of their craft.  For me, rapping is just a hobby, and my song Fruit Tree was a fun experiment with a good friend of mine over the Christmas holidays.  We'd love to hook up and produce somethings again.  He just got married a few days ago actually, so he may be preoccupied for while.  Stay tuned though!  You bes' be believin' I'll post any new songs.

Ephesians 3:2. Have you heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to Paul for you? This is a strange sentence, isn’t it? What does this mean? Well, let me give my opinion on the matter so you can either accept or reject it.

I want to know if you’ve heard about some really good news. I want to know if anyone has ever told you something very important. I want to know if you listened to the person who tried to tell you. I want to know if you started hearing it, but you stopped because you thought that you knew what they were going to say. Maybe some preconceived notion stopped you from giving audience. Maybe someone told you something wrong and you rightfully stopped listening. I’d like for you to give me a chance to tell you something that you may never have heard of, something wonderful for you.

God gave Paul a story that is very easy to understand, and at the same time, very deep. Paul had been given the Gospel, and he dispensed it to the world. This is the story of your need, God’s meeting your need, and your reception of God’s provision. Paul was the first person that God revealed this mystery to. God did this for you.

Let me tell you the mystery. First of all, we all need forgiveness. This is a fact, whether or not we believe it. We need forgiveness because we have done wrong, at one time or another. If you think you have never done wrong, you may as well stop reading now.

Second of all, God has provided our forgiveness through the actions of a Person. We could never earn forgiveness, and so God sent Jesus to earn our forgiveness for us. This is the meaning of the grace of God. Grace means undeserved kindness, and it is found in Jesus. Jesus the Christ is our representative before God. We could not affect our own forgiveness, so Jesus took the punishment we deserved. He was born of a virgin and so started the human race anew, without sin! Jesus lived the only good life. A religious person cannot believe this. Even the average Joe thinks he’s going to Heaven because he is good. But the fact is, all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. Only Jesus is good. Good Jesus died in our place and received our punishment when he bore our sins. He rose from the dead and verified everything He said and did. He alone conquered death.

Third of all, how do we receive all this good stuff? Is it by becoming religious? No! Is it by trying to earn forgiveness and denying all that Jesus has done? No! Is it by pushing all this out of our minds and ignoring our need? No! This is how to receive forgiveness and a new life. All you have to do is believe the story. When you believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, you are completely forgiven, no matter how you feel. Your happy ending is certain, and this knowledge will help you overcome the hardships of life. All you must do is continue to believe, and God will do the rest. This is the message that was given to the apostle Paul for you.

If we are going to make it, it will be through the kindness of God, and our trust in that kindness. If we believe that God can bring us through, then He will. If we lose our confidence in Christ, then we stop Him from helping us. We stand in grace, as we believe in grace. To believe in grace is not to believe in our faith. We do not finish the race because we are good believers, or good at believing. We finish the race because we trust the One who does all things well, Jesus Christ. So rejoice in this hope, and in the glory of God. Rejoice in God’s glory. Too many people are too happy with themselves. May we glory in what Christ has done on the cross, and may we have confidence in the dignity of God, as He fulfills in us the things we know He can.

Our freedom from sin is based on the death of Jesus, not our efforts. All one must do to be free from sin is to trust the cross.

When the believer trusts in Jesus, he is planted with Christ in His death. The seed dies to bring forth the life of the growing plant. Before Jesus, we were seeds, rotting away in uselessness upon the ground. But when we trusted in what Jesus did on the cross, we were planted with Jesus in the death of His burial, only to rise with Jesus in the likeness of His resurrection, as growing wheat that will one day be harvested into God’s family in glory. The only way to become a planted seed is to believe in Jesus Christ. Otherwise we remain unplanted, lying on the path, waiting to be eaten by the birds of the air.

Jesus did everything for us. Jesus is the most generous person who ever lived. His life was selfless and His gifts are great. And do not worry, if you are planted with Christ by faith, you will certainly be planted with Christ in resurrection. You will live because Jesus lives. It’s as certain as that. Jesus fulfills the destinies of all who trust in Him.

This is a hopeless, futile endeavor, for all we can earn with our efforts at holiness, is death. If we could earn salvation then that means we deserve salvation. And every clear-thinking person knows that they do not deserve salvation. It’s only the deceived people who believe they deserve salvation.

 

 

If we could earn eternal life, that means God owes us the thing we deserve. God must make good, and discharge the debt He owes. Imagine someone saying to God, “compensate me God, clear yourself of the debt you owe me, and pay up.” This is exactly how all religions operate, besides Christianity. Christianity is the only faith that teaches about the gift of eternal life. This shows that Christianity is the only true faith. All other religions of the world place themselves above their god by self-righteousness and obligatory salvation. Never make God obligated to you. Instead, receive perpetual life as the divine gratuity of God, through the life, death, burial, and resurrection of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

As I get to know this system better I am sure I will be able to run around in here a lot better. There are several things that God has not only laid upon my heart to do but has also provided me with the ability to do them as well. Several years ago before I turned my life over to Him I had the privilage of working under a women who had basically took me an unknown under her wing and teach me much of the industry from the ground floor up. She had introduced me to many people within the industry even though she no longer cared for the way they did business. Throughout this time she also taught me how to not only run a production camera but also how to edit, produce and direct. God had given me a natural ability to learn things and I soon became her favorite cameraman. After leaving her I soon began my own venture and ended up in Nashville working with Independent artists, creating several other ventures within the industry before walking away from it to allow God to work in my life. Even before meeting the founders of this project here I have felt God leading me back into the industry and was glad when this opportunity came.

The bible teaches something that many so-called Christians disbelieve. It is amazing to me that the visible church contains so many invisible unbelievers. This is what so many in the church will not accept, that our peace with God is the result of one act of righteousness which was performed by Jesus on the cross, and not the results of our acts of righteousness which we have done, Rom. 5:18. Salvation is a gift, and the church would do well to finally believe this and stop trying to save itself.

The gift of Jesus is not like the sin of Adam. Many died from Adam’s sin, but many live by the gift of grace. Adam brings death; Jesus brings life. Notice that in Rom. 5:15, it says that people die because of Adam’s sin. Adam sinned for the world, and in the world’s place. Conversely, Jesus obeyed for the world, and in the world’s place. Those who simply trust Christ receive His goodness.

The gift of life in Christ is said to be free. It’s a gratuity, for God did not have to pay for our sins when Jesus died, He wanted to. And the gift of Jesus abounds to us. Jesus doesn’t save us a little, and let us do the rest. He saves us in excess, to the uttermost. Jesus’ salvation is enough, and to spare. We do not add to His grace by our deeds. We do not supplement salvation. We are asked to trust in Jesus, and that’s all. After we trust the Savior, He then takes the reigns of our lives, and leads us to our happy conclusions. We must continue, however, to have childlike faith in Jesus, all our lives. We do not need a lot of faith, a mustard seed amount will suffice. Is that too much for God to ask? No!

Another difference between the gift and the sin is judgment followed one sin for the condemnation of many, but the gift followed many sins for the justification of many. One sin condemned the world, but many sins were made clean by the one act of mercy. The cross is the opposite of the fall, as far apart as opposites can be. Adam’s single sin resulted in God’s decision of adversity against many. All who are of Adam are under the verdict of eternal condemnation. But many sins could not weaken the mercy of God in Jesus’ cross. Even though many sins were committed in the world, God still gave the free gift of Jesus. Jesus delivers us from the adverse sentence of Adam. In Adam, God renders an unfavorable decision. In Christ, God gives a justifying decision, a decision that cleans the believer from all sin-guilt and pardons him of every wrong.

Since God is love, doesn’t it make sense that He would bless us because of our good representative, Jesus, if He cursed us by the bad one, Adam? If God allowed the world to be condemned by Adam, He would surely allow the world to be saved by Jesus. This is a strong argument that supports the universality of potential salvation to all who would believe, and destroys the false idea of partial, or limited atonement.

If death can reign through the fault of a single person, how much more will life reign through the love of one single person? Life is better than death. It is of nobler and more outstanding character, and better capable of having sovereign authority or rule. People will more readily submit to love’s reign, than to the reign of death. The ministry that gives life is the gospel. The ministry of death is called the Ten Commandments in 2 Cor. 3. So, believe the good news of Jesus, and leave legalism behind.

Receive God’s superabundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness. Reign in life through one man, Jesus Christ. When God gave Adam the right to act for us in Eden, Adam failed. So, God came to earth, and as a man, perfectly represented us to the Father. “Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great. God appeared in a body, was vindicated by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory,” I Tim. 3:16.

Paul starts all his letters like this. The phrase "grace and peace" conveys the essence of Christianity. It conveys what so many are not preaching. It conveys just the opposite of what false religion conveys. False religion, or legalism, (for many of today's religions are so often legalistic,) conveys uncertainty, doubts, and unfinished business. For the works-oriented person, salvation is an unfinished business. They admit that Jesus finished something on the cross, but to them salvation isn't finished until they perform. What does this say about the work of Jesus? It says that it's either supplemented or supplanted. To supplement is to add something to make up for a default. Let me tell you there is no default in the cross of Jesus. To supplant is to take the place of. Let me tell you that no one can take the place of Jesus. I've told you what "grace and peace" is not. Let me tell you what it is.

Grace is Jesus and him crucified. Grace is Jesus coming down from heaven to, first, do the will of God as the only person who ever fulfilled the law, and second, grace is this perfect person becoming a curse for us on the tree. The only person who did not merit the curse of God because he fulfilled the law, in grace became a curse for us anyway. This is what satisfies the Father. This is what brings peace to us and God. When we just believe this simple message, we are made right with God and given peace.

Christianity is the only faith of its kind. This is because Christianity is the only faith where God does the work of salvation, and man receives salvation as a gift. All other faiths try to get God to owe them salvation in one way or another. But God could never be indebted to anyone. When a religion turns legalistic in its theology, either partially or totally, that religion is trying to get God to owe them salvation, either partially or totally. Their mistake is in not realizing that salvation is entirely a gift. It isn't that we are not required to believe, for we are told again and again in the New Testament that we must believe to be saved. But in order to receive the free gift, one must believe that there is a gift to receive. So receive the free gift of salvation by grace through faith, and know the grace and peace of God.
