Well folks, my name is Dan Allshouse(29), I am a self taught guitarist. I love worship music. In fact thats how I taught myself. I would go to church on Sunday and listen and watch. Doing this allowed me to worship more deeply then I ever had before. I would then go home and try my hardest to make something come out of that guitar that sounded like something other then blah. Then one day A missionary friend came to a Sunday night service at our church. That night myself along with a two others were doing worship. This man Eric Hanson, prayed that God would instill the gift of worship, musical talent, a fine tuned ear, and freedom in worhip,in us. It felt like something was realesed in me when he prayed. That very next week, I started writing worship songs and songs that weren't really worship song but songs that edified God. I guess that would be worship, huh? To give you an example, "Let me be your love song" was written after work one day. I worked 1pm to 9pm in a prison as a commissary clerk(sold groceries to inmates). There was alot of oppression, depression, and alot of persecution that came with that job. Well, one night I came home laid in bed with my guitar strumming two chords. I was so oppressed, so depressed, and so persecuted, all I could do was cry out to God. I started to pray while I was strumming those two chords. "Teach me to live, the life Youv'e given to me, Teach me to love those who persecute me. Let me be Your love song to the world." thats how it all got started. Back in 2004 I was supposed to record an album but God had differant plans than I. I met and soon after got engagded to a wonderful God fearing woman Right now I am unsure what God has for me and my new wife Anna (6/24/06), because I had moved from Coxsackie, NY to PA (near Pitt). I am praying that I can get back into worshiping on a team or with an outside worship band. Yeah I worship on my own but there's nothing like worshiping God with other musicians that have the same heart of worship as you do. Unity is a wonderful thing.
